The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card was added to my wallet more than 10 years ago because it earns a low $95 annual fee (see rates and fees) and simple earning rates.
It has also been a high-end travel rewards card because of its simple earning rates and no foreign transaction charges. More than that, you can redeem your rewards for recent travel purchases at a fixed rate and transfer your miles to any of the 15-plus Capital One airline and hotel partners. Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card benefits
The Capital One Venture Rewards offers cardholders several benefits that help offset the card’s $95 annual fee.
Price prediction and free price drop protection
Capital One Venture Rewards I’m looking for the most valuable benefit of this program, which is a price prediction and free price drop protection that can be provided when I book flights through CapitalOne Travel.
Whenever you look up for a flight through Capital One Travel, the price prediction appears. It also gives advice on whether to book now and estimates how prices will change if you wait to read.

CAPITAL ONE TRAVEL
Capital One Travel automatically applies price drop protection to that purchase if the price prediction says booking now, and no further charge is applied. If it goes down in less than 10 days, you’ll get up to $50 of the difference back.

CAPITAL ONE TRAVEL
They are two features that usually make me confident enough to book or keep track of prices. The automated price drop protection is always nice, and I’ve gotten money back on several flights.
Price match guarantee on select travel bookings
When you book a flight (hotel/rental car) through Capital One Travel and then find the same flight, hotel or rental car on another site within 24 hours of booking, you also have some protection. Call Capital One Travel specifically, submit a price match claim and then get ‘travel credit for the difference’ when agent can confirm that it is less than what you pay.
I’ve done price match guarantees for a number of flights, and the calls often take less than 10 minutes. Keep in mind ‘It is not necessarily the same itinerary as you booked on Capital One Travel, so that you have to submit your claim within 24 hours of booking through CapitalOne Travel. The price must be in dollars and available to the general public without any coupons, promotions or member discounts.
Global Entry or TSA PreCheck statement credit
Capital One Venture Rewards cardholders receive up to $120 statement credit every four years for the application fee for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck. Credit will be applied for the program that is first applied to so you should wait until your application time if you plan to pay for applications of both programs with your card.

I like Global Entry because it allows me to enter U.S., and is a great thing for s? A , S. The immigration queues are fast, and it also gives me TSA PreCheck. This perk gives me (up to) $120 back every four years, even if my Capital One Venture Rewards card didn’t offer a statement credit.
Complimentary Hertz Five Star status
Those who have signed up for Capital One Venture Rewards cardholders can sign up to free Hertz Five Star status through the “Benefits” tab of the Capital one website or mobile app. That’s not the case, but it can take up to 72 hours after you register for Hertz status (the upgrade will be effective) so don’t wait until when you are about getting your rental car ready and registering.
Would be better if I have Hertz Five Star status, which offers upgrades when it is available, 25% more points and a wider range of cars at Ultimate Choice locations.
Perks on eligible Lifestyle Collection stays
With Capital One Travel, every time you book an eligible Lifestyle Collection booking, the $50 experience credit will be a favorite to enjoy while you’re there. A cardholder must be booked in the name of that person; a card Holder must remain on his or her booking, and is required to stay on the valid booking.

CAPITAL ONE TRAVEL
Hotel owners staying at a hotel will use the credit at checkout for qualifying charges up to $50 if you are in. During your stay, check with the hotel to see what charges are eligible and charge qualifying charges to you room during your stays. A vacation rental provider will credit the host provider when you book an eligible experience with a Capital One credit card, and they’re using that same account to apply for the credit if you’m staying at it. Nevertheless, at some holiday rental properties you may be given the experience as a gift card.
And you’ll also enjoy some other perks on eligible Lifestyle Collection stays, such as free Wi-Fi, early check-in and late checkout. Yet it is true that early check-in and late checkout are provided only when there is an option, and bookings may have a minimum stay requirement for the . Similarly, at hotels you can get a room upgrade (subject to availability) for the same phraser (i.e.

How to earn and use your rewards
It is easy to earn Capital One miles and redeemable but still valuable, with capital Onemiles. How do you know what Capital One miles are worth and redeem?
Earning miles
Capital One Venture Rewards Simple to remember earning rates for . Specifically you’ll get 5 miles per dollar for hotels, vacation rentals and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel and 2 miles/dollar spent on all other purchases.
With such high earnings, the Capital One Venture Rewards is a great option for you (whether it’s your only card or you use it mostly to buy things that would not earn bonus rewards on other cards). My Capital One Venture Rewards for purchases, which would earn just 1 point or mile per dollar spent if I used another rewards credit card, often work with my capital one venture rewards.
Redeeming miles
One of the big positives about Capital One Venture Rewards is its miles flexibility. However, the two best methods to redeem Capital One miles are for recent travel purchases and transfer earnings to select airline or hotel loyalty programs.
This is incredibly easy to do, and it gives you 1 cent per mile when using Capital One miles to cover recent travel purchases. You have 90 days to log into the Capital One app or website and redeem rewards for your purchase once you make an eligible travel purchase with your card.

CAPITAL ONE
I want to redeem my miles, but I prefer transferring them to the 15-plus Capital One airline and hotel program partners. Air France-KLM Flying Blue, Air Canada Aeroplan and Avianca LifeMiles are among the best options for s but you also have JetBlue TrueBlue, Wyndham Rewards and many other programs. Recently I redeemed 80,000 Air Canada Aeroplan points ($85 in taxes and fees) to fly business class from Cape Town to Perth, Australia on an itinerary that would have otherwise cost $2,233.
It’s the best redemption option as long as you transfer miles to partners for more than 1 cent per mile. TPG’s January 2026 valuations, however, equated Capital One miles at 1-1. 84 cents per phraser, or 85 cent. When you transfer them, you’ll usually want to choose airline or hotel programs that pay at least this much for your miles.

Downsides of the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card to consider
The Capital One Venture Rewards won’t be the right card for everyone. Here are some drawbacks to keep in mind:
During most purchases, you’ll earn 2 miles per dollar for every purchase (only hotels, vacation rentals and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel make 5 miles/dollar spent)* You’re just on the money.
- There are no airport lounge benefits.
- There are no annual statement credits or miles to help offset the annual fee.
- JetBlue is the only U.S. airline that is a transfer partner.
But if you have the biggest worries about capital One venture, it’s worth thinking about Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card instead of the airport lounge benefits and potential difficulty in offsetting the annual fee.
Capital One Venture Rewards vs. Venture X
It charges more (as much as the annual fee ($395; see rates and fees) than the Venture ($95), but it offers $300 in an annual credits for bookings made through Capital One Travel. Hence, theoretically, the annual fee of the two cards is identical as long as you book at least $300 of travel through Capital One Travel each account anniversary year.
For example, Venture X cardholders also receive 10,000 bonus miles on each account anniversary starting with the first anniversary. Most consumers will benefit more than the card’s annual fee each year, averaging between the bonus miles and the annual travel credit.
Plus The Venture X is also the 10 miles per dollar for hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, 5 miles/dollar spent on flights and vacation rentals booked via CapitalOne Travel and 2 miles (per dollar) of every purchase. Additionally, Priority Pass lounges and Capital One lounge are also available to capital one Venture X cardholder?

ZACH GRIFF/THE POINTS GUY
Choose the Capital One Venture X if you prioritize:
- Credits and miles that can offset the annual fee
- Higher earning rates on some types of travel booked through Capital One Travel
- Access to Priority Pass and Capital One airport lounges
Choose the Capital One Venture Rewards if you prioritize:
- Paying a lower annual fee
- Potentially easier approval (especially if you have good, but not excellent, credit)

When to apply for the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is a 75,000-mile or more welcome offer for you, so you’ll want to apply. The offer was targeted at over 75,000 miles in airports between June 2023 and July 2024, which we’ve seen for more than a half.
That’s a good welcome offer as such 75,000 bonus miles plus $250 Capital One Travel credit (to use in your first cardholder year) after spending $4,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening.
But if you open an Venture Rewards or venture X card and earned a bonus in the past two months, Capital One won’t approve you for re-establishing securing another Capital one Venture rewards card. You’ll have to wait at least 48 months after earning a welcome bonus on either of these cards before applying for the Capital One Venture Rewards.

Bottom line
This is a popular travel rewards card, as it costs less than $95 per year and its simplicity and flexibility are still in use with the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card.
Capital One Venture Rewards is a good card for purchases that don’t earn bonus rewards on other cards, and are only one card in demand or looking for if you want to buy the card.
