First impressions

RACHEL CRAFT/THE POINTS GUY
I have a simple, unassuming entrance between two other buildings. Kimpton Main Frankfurt is easy to miss; in fact my family of four walk right past it without noticeing the door.
If you’re inside, step in and get a sleek, modern look that is inspired by the early 20th-century Bauhaus style — specializing in pops of color, geometric shapes and gleaming metals. It’s an upscale combination with no pretentious and charismatic, but loud-no noise sound.

That’s not the case of being an art connoisseur to like the hotel, that’ll say you don’t need a . Until I was here, I didn’t even know what Bauhaus was and liked the subject in the coffee table book I found in my room.

The rooms
Despite its small footprint, Kimpton Main Frankfurt has 155 rooms and suites spread across five floors.
My king suite (about 500 sqft) had one-king bed, a bath room, desk, closet, smart TV and several chairs; separate sitting room with sofa and another TV. The 8-foot wraparound windows were seen over the streets surrounding them as wrap around windows.

Nevertheless, the blackout curtains did an excellent job of keeping the room dark cocoon to let me sleep off my jet lag – until a construction crew decided to start drilling outside at 7.? m, ? Alas, that is one of the risks you take when staying in a city.
There is a Nespresso machine, an electric kettle and minibar (for recharge) that checks every day with ‘free tea, coffee and mineral water’ in each room as well as. The minibar is empty enough to chill smaller items such as takeout and water bottles.
My room was a modern, laid-back place with spiffing of colorful patterns and materials but some small touches brought the luxury up notch. Sumptuous robes and soft slippers, heated bathroom tiles and even a yoga mat (ideal for stretching after ‘long flight) were among the sumptive clone. The rooms also have “luxe linens” (although the sheets were nearly too slippery for my taste) and a pillow menu, according to the hotel’s website.
The only flaws were a few awkwardly designed elements in the bathroom (but this was particularly fun, with pops of color and ‘an impressive navy blue tiled floor)). Although the space was comparatively roomy, it had limited countertop space and the shower was cramped so access to the soap dispensers was difficult. It also did not hang a hand towel near the sink, and with wet hands it was hard to turn around in the circular knobs.

Dining at Kimpton Main Frankfurt
Kimpton Main Frankfurt is home to two bars and a restaurant.
Lazuli Bar & Kitchen, located on the fifth-floor of its five-storey buffet-style breakfast room, is wellstocked with the usual suspects such as breads, meats and cheeses (and fruits) or meat.

I had a breakfast and it was delicious, convenient to start the day of exploring.’ The walk-in cost 42 euros (about $49) per person is pretty high for what you get from my party but that’s just about how much money do you pay? For those who plan to take advantage of the breakfast buffet, you save a lot by booking if you’re going for breakfast; on my dates this is about $28 extra per person. Per night.
Lazuli is also a place to drink evening drinks from 6 p. m,. A rooftop terrace is open during summer months, with a roof terrace on Wednesday through Sunday as s take up the sun.

Don’t miss Anni, the ground-floor brasserie where a German-inspired cuisine is served in slummed atmosphere meant to represent European cafe culture.

I had an extremely hard-to-please group – including a vegan and two picky eaters that gave the food unanimous thumb’ups-up. Other examples were the schnitzel ($38) and its vegetable (19), the field-based feldsalat ($15) with the pumpkin soup ($14), Moriarty, as well as more detailed basil highball cocktails ($16 per cent).

My only regrets were that I had stayed long enough to use all these facilities and that my pet snake was so I could see what reptile-pampering amenities they provide.

Location and logistics
In part of the relatively new Four development, Kimpton Main Frankfurt is a business district It’s quieter and less touristy than more popular European city centers but without much nightlife.
Yet, if you’re still there’s plenty to see around the town. It is located between the historic Romerberg square and Frankfurt Main Train Station, just blocks from the nearest Christmas market; a 12-minute walk of Old Town in Frankfurt’s Oldtown, the Goethestrassian luxury shopping district and the Kleinmarkthalle food market.

It takes a 20-minute train ride on the S8 line to get here from the airport, with tickets costing 11 euros (about $13) per person; we save by buying shopper ticket for four passengers for 36 euros ($42)).

RACHEL CRAFT/THE POINTS GUY
My king studio suite is 219 euros (around $255) or 55,000 IHG points per night; 170 euros ($198)/36,000 points every night for a basic “essential” room. Note If you add breakfast to your stay, cash prices will go up; if you have the same rate as Breakfast included with points, you can’t book it.
And that is 0 for That, so it’s. 55 or 0 . About our January 2026 valuation of 0, right around the time we paid 46 cents per point. My point for IHG points is 5 cents apiece, per . If you don’t get outsize value for your points here, it might be more logical to pay with cash if rates are reasonable on your dates.

Accessibility

RACHEL CRAFT/THE POINTS GUY
A further room in Kimpton Main Frankfurt is the wheelchair-accessible rooms with features such as automatic door openers and roll-in bathrooms, elevators large enough to accommodate wheelchairs. Similarly, there are rooms with visual doorbells for hearing-accessible rooms where is also available.
But, I didn’t see Braille on any signs around the hotel so it may not be as convenient for guests with visual impairments. TPG recommends calling the hotel early as always to ensure it can meet your needs.

Bottom line
Kimpton Main Frankfurt is the heart of all this city has to offer guests. A stay here will make you feel right at home when it comes to finding the area or just need a place to rest your head while traveling to another European country.
The hotel doesn’t have a spa or pool, and Frankfurt may not be the nightlife that you expect from other European cities but its appeal is to calm simplicity. Guests can look forward to an atmosphere of understated luxury, from the hotel’s warm service and relaxed-yet-lifted dining venues to complimentary amenities.
