The Diplomat resort, a staple for travelers in Hollywood, Florida right outside Fort Lauderdale, has long been known as the “Separate” resort of . It was a place to see, and be seen in South Florida since the 1950s when it became an original hotel that had been destroyed by its current structure, – ’36-floor tower tower.
The huge resort is gearing up for its next big change Hilton’s playful Curio brand, pictured here with Signia by Hilton, “has been the world-class hotel portfolio that mixes luxury and travel into every aspect of the guest stay” He said ‘Although s are in the line, “
Besides the new logo, The Diplomat has also experienced a massive change in many of its public spaces, restaurants, pool areas and more.
The property, now known as Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort, was visited by TPG ahead of the May 1 transition to see what’s new and fresh and which tried-and-true parts of that property remained unchanged.

The Diplomat is a huge complex, from the beach to the pool to that massive lobby space. There’s plenty of room for stretching out and enjoying yourself. But for now, it’s even prettier than . part of the hotel’s conversion to a signian brand was designed to honor the heritage “while adopting an energy that is new, beachclub” and it made me aware when I walked inside.
A.rium-style lobby is full of greenery, with seats matching earthy, cool tones of the plants and ocean vibes; it has an atrium style room that looks like “the world’s most beautiful”. The whole space was largely cool, with the addition of poetry pieces of art.

Despite the hotel’s much-replaced change in its rooms, it may still be possible for past guests to see familiar with the rooms. I was in a large one-bedroom suite with soaring terrace facing ocean for my two nights stay. A king bed in the bedroom was a comfortable one-to-one room with slat on an old wooden wall, ‘large lounge chair and huge TV.
I felt right at home in the living room, a couch, desk area and amenities such as fencing and coffee maker. In the suite, patterned carpet reminded me of beach pebbles and the soft color palette was perfectly integrated with the crystalline ocean views.
In fact, truthfully I rarely spent any time in my room because of the myriad places to lounge closer to the water. I had a guest room, but when I was in the guestroom sitting on the balcony and watching people play on beach while ships passed by at sea left me calm and relaxed.

I love a hotel club lounge and am very fond of . Guests with access to their hotel usually provide a quiet escape from the rest of the hotel, typically food and drinks throughout the day, good working spaces and often great views.
It is all that and then some of the Diplomat’s soon-to–open Club Signia, on the 33rd floor. As I was preparing for my preview, I tried many of the dishes that will be on the club’s menu a Cuban sandwich with mouthwatering flavor and salads served as well as crisp glass of rose. Just for the great food, but stay for all of those beautiful views from the club’s large deck facing Atlantic Ocean.
It has 6,600-square-foot Club Signia for guests in premium room categories from the 32nd to 34th floors, and Hilton Honors Diamond Reserve members.

A huge pool complex, The Verandah, is surrounded by elevated cabanas and daybeds (for an extra fee) and lounge chairs in the Diplomat’s massive pool building called The Devadan with its adults-only Solara infinity pool; it also has family-friendly Grand Lagoon Pool. I was happy to spend a long afternoon at the Solara pool, where servers deliver food and cocktails, wading in the water and reading in an ocean-facing daybed. Like any resort pool complex, I saw people claiming chairs pretty early so that even if you book a paid daybed or cabana, be sure to get the spot.
And it’s also a good thing to note that all over the pool area and throughout the hotel there is lots of fun programming, such as live music and salsa dancing lessons. A mermaid was even seen yes, a “real” (mer) MERmaiD – swimming with children in the Grand Lagoon pool.
Changed: The Verandah Social Club

DIPLOMAT BEACH RESORT
A swishy new resort at The Dip is known as The Verandah Social Club, an adult-only, exclusive pool deck full of cabanas and daybeds overlooking the adults- only pool and the beach. When I visited the resort was putting the finishing touches on the club, but I could tell it would be the kind of private space I’d like to hang out. The Verandah Social Club will be bringing high-end food and cocktails, wellness activations (such as neck and shoulder massages and cooling cryo wand facials), and an Instagram-worthy vibe you’ll be dying to share on social media.

The Diplomat is home to six bars and restaurants, from an upscale steakhouse, Diplomatic Prime, to the beachy open-air Playa Beach Bar & Grill, as well as an indoor-outdoor bar, a coffee shop, breakfast buffet and’very convenient and well-stocked grab-and-go market’. The changes are described by new menus and beverage programs from executive sous chef Michelle Milz across the dining venues, which relaunched the change in their restaurants.
The dinner at Diplomat Prime was memorable (pictured above) with the coastal seafood platter ($90), a mouthwatering plate of the chef’s catch of day (market price) and fried cauliflower with fresh herbs, crispy quinoa and barrel-aged dressing ($15)

All of the classics ($42) are available at Palema Kitchen, the daily breakfast buffet for guests; La carte avocado tartine ($22) or rich shakshuka ($25)

Then, don’t forget to stop by breezy Playa Beach Bar & Grill for the smoked island fish dip ($24), a delicious dip of celery, pickled vegetables and carrots, radish and chives with tortilla and plantain chips. The island poke bowl (ahi tune and rice noodles ($28) was another winner for me, with a dish of rice pasta ($8)).
Stayed the same: The Diplomat Spa and Salon
Every resort stay is a good idea for me to go to the spa, I think. The amazing staff at The Diplomat Spa and Salon gave me a unique sound-healing experience lying on ‘an unusual vibrating table’ while wearing sex headset that played music and flashed lights in sync with the bed’s vibrations (pricing upon request) My Spa’s signature massage ($220) – aromatherapy and hot stones – was given after the sound-healing treatment I received.

My name is Tanner, so I’m probably going to be at the beach working on my tan. A semi-private beach area at The Diplomat offers chairs, umbrellas and daybeds for an extra cost as well as food and beverage service. The resort controls the seating, but while it is open to the public, just note that “the real beach has people sand up and down.”
Other things to know
There is an active gym at the hotel with free daily HIIT classes or paid personal training sessions. The beach also has frequent yoga and pilates experiences with .
For a bit, can get off the property by using free one-hour bike rentals that are extended to be paid for an additional hour. There’s a kids club for families so parents can go to the spa knowing that little ones are in safe hands.
And I also wish that there is a resort with ‘book-in and busy convention center’ convention centre. There was a convention that was being held but outside people milling around the lobby with lanyards, I’d never noticed even though.
Accessibility

TANNER SAUNDERS/THE POINTS GUY
The Diplomat also has a number of rooms for guests with various needs, including ADA-compliant rooms, public spaces and pool lifts. Generally speaking to the hotel before booking, TPG recommends talking directly about what’s available for different travelers and their specific needs.
How to book Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort
The Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort at Signia, where cash rates are around $250 per night, start with s. Hilton Honors Members may book a minimum of 69,000 points per night for members to be on Hilton honors.
Bottom line
My last time I viewed The Diplomat I left feeling relaxed, refreshed and slightly bronzed than I was before watching the show. With the additions of Club Signia and Verandah Social Club, which were soon to be added as a part of the resort’s newly-opened property, it was felt “swanky and chic”; this change in its properties really make the experience truly an integral part.
During my time at The Diplomat, I learned that it’s the kind of place people go back to over and over; for those returning to this new version of the beloved hotel, you’ll be pretty happy.
