I’m a traveler and travel journalist, Singapore has longluded me to the city-state (and its famous Singapore Airlines) but it is always been in my mind. After a work trip to Japan in the end of 2025, I was given an opportunity to visit (sadly, not in one of Singapore Airlines’ famous suites) and have been granted. A recent major renovation of a recently completed points hotel, Regis Singapore, is one of the most popular points hotels that has been revamped.

Here’s a list of some of the things that have changed and many who remain unchanged – at the hotel, which opened in 2008 just steps from luxury shops on world-famous Orchard Road.

Changed: Rooms were reimagined to reflect a UNESCO World Heritage Site

In a phased renovation period, the hotel’s 299 guest rooms were completely recreated by FBEye International to pay homage (poetic rebirth) to the Singapore Botanic Gardens, just ten minutes from the Hotel. Its changes included subtle botanical motifs, which were balanced against beautiful natural woods with various blue and green colors that really made it feel like Singapore’s parks and gardens had reached their own place inside. The touches such as floor-to-ceiling windows that automatically opened and closed, also reflected it in the sense of being exposed to much natural light while viewing the parks and gardens from a bird’s-eye view.

A few other features of my suite were the seriously beautiful bathroom with a soaking tub, lots of mirrors, ‘an amazing flower-style tile floor and earth-toned marble walls that made every time I went to the toilet feel like I was in. palace.” It was also big televisions that I could stream directly (helping me out when the jet lag kicked in) and convenient technology upgrades which made it easy to charge my phone and laptop or control lights and curtains without having to move very far.

rooms, but the luxury butler service St. The same is true for Regis, who has spent a lifetime perfecting. The hotel, characteristic St. Regis butlers were on the scene to answer any question, from unpacking and repackaging luggage to raising a new cup of complimentary coffee in the morning to handling two free items of clothing that can be pressed daily and making sure your favorite international newspaper is waiting at your door every morning.

Changed: A new Italian restaurant opened

The modern Italian restaurant Sophia opened in October 2025, a wall of windows framing beautiful green trees and set between the hotel lobby and. It was a restaurant with an array of dishes as delicious as the venue was beautiful,’ said chef Angelo Sergio, from Italy’s Puglia region.

I am a big fan of making things easy, so I chose the restaurant’s three-course lunch menu ($46) and enjoyed.

In 2024, Yan Ting (a Cantonese restaurant from chef Chan Chung Shing) was given a beautiful face-lift an impressive new entrance; ‘A moody dining room full of brass, onyx and marble; A series of Chinese paintings that represent the four seasons in its entirety’. But come for the new design — and not just to be with the infamous mouthwatering food. I was visiting at lunchtime and had a selection of dim sum plates such as steamed charcoal salted egg yolk buns ($9), smoked pork and shrimp dumplings ($18) and other delights suggested to me.

Even if dim sum is just for lunch, dinner guests can find a book-like menu of options such as wok-fried lobster angel hair pasta with truffle ($38), steam leopard coral grouper ($22 per gram) and braised superior bird’s nest soup ($100).

Stayed the same: The pool

A morning wading through the hotel’s long pool perched on a second-floor deck below some surrounding buildings to help beat Singapore’t sticky heat, even in early December I had fun at least once. It’s a resort-like feeling, even though you are in the middle of the city and right at the center of it with lots of green plants and lounge chairs.

A stay at The St is a must-have for those who like art. Because of its immaculate private art collection, Regis Singapore has everything from wall-size paintings to sculptures and even a huge chandelier designed to look like the Titanic, an ode to St. In 1912, Regis founder John Jacob Astor IV (who died when the ship sank) was killed by Regius founder.

I love a hotel bar, and the St. Regis brand’s iconic St. Louise, pictured, is the symbol for Regiis brand. My favorite of the time has been Regis Bar, from Venice, Italy, to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

the updated Styphraser. Regis Bar in Singapore is a dark, moody, wood-filled tribute to Manhattan; it features cocktails from Singaporean and New York cocktail menu featuring classic cocktails over 50 years. Golden Sand Sour ($22) with Glenfidhich 12 scotch, salted egg yolk, sherry, lemon, white miso, vanilla yogurt and egg white was one of my favorite drinks. Of course, every St. was and… The bloody mary is the ‘bloody, bloodied marry’ of Regis Bar and its take on it. A , The St. A smoky, complex and deconstructed The Straits Mary ($20) by Regis Singapore’s is the “Smuky” (and complicated) piece of music that has been described as being composed in its lyrics.

Stayed the same: The central location

The place of The St is worth mentioning twice. Am I a big fan of Regis Singapore for me, as was the case with RegiS Singapore? Some of the city’s major attractions, such as the free Singapore Botanic Gardens and pay-to-enter National Orchid Garden, are a short walk from it — one of my favorite places in Singapore to have been visited. And it’s also not too far from public transit, an array of megamall with amazing shopping and a number of hawker centers for eating.

Changed: An elevated spa experience

a trip to st? The location at the Singapore property is better than ever thanks to 2024 upgrades, and Regis spa is always a good idea; it’s worth going for. A , The St. The new Regis Spa, named after The St., was redesigned to honor the poem “The St” in its title. In the 1930s and ’40s Regis New York’, there is an Iridium Room (a ‘supper club that was popular in the 30th and 40 years of age), which has been known as Regius New Jersey’s Irridum Room. The style has ivory and cream colors, lots of florals and an overall soothing atmosphere. Just stop in for a massage and be sure to take time to enjoy the extra facilities, such as indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, steam rooms, saunas and plenty of room to hang out and relax.

Bottom line

Eventually, every hotel needs a little sprucing up for each of the hotels and The St. Regis Singapore’ – through and through the glow up was a success for Regius Singapore.
